At the annual Worldwide Developers Conference held in Cupertino, California, Apple unveiled "Siri AI", which is a more conversational assistant with its own standalone app and the ability to analyze screen content and extract information from the web. It has been two years since Apple first promised a major upgrade, with the upgrade plan having been delayed multiple times. Bob O'Donnell, President and Chief Analyst of TECHnalysis Research, said, "This is AI for the masses; its not true AI, but for many people, this is the kind of intelligence they were hoping for." However, analysts have shown cautious initial reactions. MoffettNathanson analyst Craig Moffett said that while these upgrades are not "disruptive", they should make Siri "a trustworthy chatbot, and possibly a trustworthy AI." Apple's stock price fell 1.9% on Monday's closing on the Nasdaq, to $301.54.
