G217 Shata Highway successfully excavates the longest tunnel along the entire route.

Reporters learned from China Railway 11th Bureau Group that at the construction site of the Shache to Tashkurgan County highway on the G217 line, the longest tunnel on the entire route, the Zongtash Tunnel, has been successfully excavated and will pass through the uninhabited area of the Kunlun Mountains. The G217 Shache-Tacheng Highway is a key construction project in the southern Xinjiang road network, with a total length of approximately 223.9 kilometers, passing through Shache County in Kashgar Prefecture, Tashkurgan Tajik Autonomous County, and Akto County in Kizilsu Kirghiz Autonomous Prefecture. The project is laid out along the banks of the Yarkand River and the Tashkurgan River, passing through important areas such as the Altash Water Conservancy Hub, the Xiabanchi Water Conservancy Hub, and the Aksu National Wetland Park.
