Roche will pay up to $2.3 billion to Nurix for the cancer drug deal.
On June 8th, Roche announced that it has reached an exclusive licensing and collaboration agreement with biopharmaceutical company Nurix Therapeutics. Roche will pay up to $2.3 billion to acquire the rights to an experimental blood cancer drug from Nurix. The announcement states that Nurix will receive a $700 million upfront payment for the Bruton's tyrosine kinase degrader bexobrutideg, which is being developed for the treatment of specific blood cancers and potential immune and nervous system diseases. Roche and Nurix will share the costs of research and development and split the profits in the U.S. market, with Roche being responsible for commercialization of the therapy in regions outside the U.S. The transaction is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2026.
