According to Al Jazeera, the actual scale of destruction in the region since the US military strike on Iran has been difficult to fully assess. At the request of the US government, several satellite image companies, including Planet Labs, the world's largest commercial satellite operator based in California, have implemented indefinite restrictions on the release of satellite images related to this conflict. This makes it difficult for the public to independently verify the extent of battlefield losses, the level of infrastructure damage, and the actual effects of military actions, further increasing uncertainty in assessing the impact of the conflict. However, before the restrictions took effect, satellite images from multiple institutions had already recorded extensive destruction in the region. Among them, the Abbas Port Naval Base located in the Strait of Hormuz is the main homeport of the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy. According to satellite images taken by Planet Labs on March 2nd, the port area suffered extensive damage. Analysis shows that the Iranian Navy's "Makran" vessel was directly hit, with visible flames burning on the deck and billowing smoke rising above. At the same time, a large fire broke out near key facilities inside the base, further indicating severe damage to the naval base's infrastructure caused by this attack.
