Recently, a jury in Los Angeles supported Johnson & Johnson in a lawsuit brought by the family members of three women who accused the company's talcum powder products of causing ovarian cancer. The jury ruled that Johnson & Johnson was not negligent in selling talcum powder products for cosmetic use. The lawsuit was brought by the families of Owens, Tinken, and Williams, all of whom died of ovarian cancer after using talcum powder baby powder. More than 67,000 plaintiffs have sued Johnson & Johnson, alleging that their baby powder and other talcum powder products have caused ovarian cancer.
