The jury ruled that Johnson & Johnson was not negligent in selling talcum powder products for cosmetic use. The lawsuit was brought by the families of Owens, Tinken, and Williams, all of whom died of ovarian cancer after using talcum powder baby powder. More than 67,000 plaintiffs have sued Johnson & Johnson, alleging that their baby powder and other talcum powder products have caused ovarian cancer.
