According to the White House on June 5 local time, US President Trump had pardoned former Republican Congressman Stephen Baer the day before. Baer had been sentenced to 22 months in prison for trading on insider information about the $230 billion merger between the Deutsche Telekom US subsidiary and Sprint Communications in 2018 while serving as an advisor at the company.
