The Eni Group signed an agreement with Gambia for offshore oil and gas exploration and development.

The Italian company Eni announced on June 5th that it has signed a production-sharing agreement with the government of The Gambia for the A1 offshore petroleum exploration and development license. The signing ceremony was attended by The Gambia's Minister of Petroleum and Energy, Fafa Sanyang, on behalf of the government. The A1 block covers an area of approximately 1,300 square kilometers, with water depths ranging from 1,250 to 3,300 meters, and is located in an area on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean where oil and gas discoveries have already been confirmed.
