Recently, there have been reports that Toyota has stopped the development of the production model of the Lexus pure electric car LF-ZC. According to the original plan, the LF-ZC production model was supposed to start production at Toyota's Tahara factory in Japan by the end of 2026. However, this plan has been delayed until mid-2027 and now it has been halted. A Toyota China-related staff responded, saying "the suspension of this model development is mainly due to changes in market demand, which is also part of the company's overall vehicle development project adjustments, but it does not mean the company has given up on BEV (pure electric vehicles)." Industrially, this adjustment is partly due to changes in pure electric vehicle policies in the United States, Europe, and other regions. For example, the United States has canceled the $7,500 federal tax credit for new electric vehicles; the EU has scrapped the policy of principle banning the sale of new cars with internal combustion engines until 2035. On the other hand, intensifying market competition, especially Chinese brands, have significant advantages over Japanese carmakers in the field of new energy vehicles. (NBD).
