According to a May 30th report from the United States, a San Francisco-based robotics startup company plans to send an upgraded version of humanoid robots to Ukraine this year for ongoing military testing. The company's leader stated that the test data in Ukraine will provide reference for future collaborations with the US military, and the company plans to use the humanoid robots for frontline testing within 18 months. The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense and the US Department of Defense have not responded to the reports. Earlier this year, with support from the US government, this company had already sent two humanoid robots to Ukraine for testing, primarily for performing logistical tasks in dangerous areas such as material retrieval. The company has currently secured research contracts totaling $24 million from the US military, involving feasibility testing in the Army, Navy, and Air Force for inspections, logistics, and weapon operation. The report also mentioned that deploying humanoid robots on the battlefield will raise various ethical concerns, especially concerning the issue of using robots to make autonomous decisions in life-threatening combat situations.
