On May 31, the Southern Theater Command of the Chinese People's Liberation Army organized sea and air forces to conduct combat readiness patrols in the territorial waters and airspace of China's Huangyan Island and surrounding sea and airspace. Huangyan Island is an inherent part of China's territory. Since May, the forces in the theater have continuously strengthened patrols and vigilance in the waters and airspace around Huangyan Island, effectively responding to various infringements and provocations, resolutely defending national sovereignty and security, and firmly maintaining peace and stability in the South China Sea region.
