World Health Organization: Timely treatment helps to combat the Ebola epidemic.
On the 30th, World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated that the current Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo is caused by the Bundibugyo strain of the Ebola virus. There are currently no approved vaccines or specific treatments, but timely medical treatment and effective treatment measures are helpful in responding to the outbreak and treating infected individuals. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus visited Ituri Province in eastern Congo, the epicenter of the current outbreak. During a press conference in the provincial capital Bunia, he mentioned that the lack of approved vaccines and specific treatments does not mean there is no hope. After receiving timely and high-quality medical care, patients may still recover. Isolation, hydration, and pain relief are crucial response and treatment measures. Currently, there have been patients recovering in Ituri Province.
