Qu Guochun, Director of the Equipment Industry Development Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology: The international competitiveness of China's high-end equipment industry has significantly improved.

On May 30th, Qu Guochun, Director of the Equipment Industry Development Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, stated at the 2026 Equipment Strong Nation Forum that after ten years of development, China's high-end equipment industry has shown progress in "following closely while speeding up, more simultaneous advancements, and emerging as leaders accelerating". The proportion of key areas that are at the world's leading and advanced levels has reached 60.8%, with the industrial scale accounting for over six-tenths of the total scale of equipment manufacturing industry. The international competitiveness of the high-end equipment industry has significantly improved. Specifically, intelligent connected new energy vehicles, rail transportation equipment, power equipment, information and communication equipment, new energy equipment, aerospace equipment, and advanced high-tech ships and overseas engineering equipment have already taken the lead globally. On the other hand, industries such as engineering machinery, construction materials equipment, computer equipment, industrial mainframes, agricultural machinery equipment, aviation equipment, robots, instruments, semiconductor equipment, and biomedical equipment are still facing gaps in comparison to the world's most advanced levels.
