The main reason was that the sales volume of instant lottery tickets was higher in the same period last year, and the reduction in sports event activities this year led to a decrease in the sales of betting-type lottery tickets. Among them, welfare lottery institutions sold 179.58 billion yuan, a decrease of 12.17 billion yuan year-on-year, a decrease of 6.3%; sports lottery institutions sold 361.16 billion yuan, a decrease of 24.55 billion yuan year-on-year, a decrease of 6.4%. From January to April, the national total lottery sales were 1980.33 billion yuan, a decrease of 83.04 billion yuan year-on-year, a decrease of 4.0%.
