On May 24th local time, Christine Lagarde, the President of the European Central Bank, stated that when policymakers meet next month, it is likely that inflation forecasts will be raised. Lagarde said that the ECB predicted a 2.6% inflation rate for this year in March, but this forecast is "likely to be adjusted." She added that since then, "the situation has changed."
