Bloomberg's well-known Apple reporter Mark Gurman wrote on Sunday that this year's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) will be Tim Cook's last keynote speech as Apple CEO, after which he will hand over to John Ternus. Ternus, as the future executive chairman, will no longer give keynote speeches. Gurman said that unless there is a major unexpected event in the CEO succession at Apple, the keynote speech on June 8th at WWDC will be Cook's last major event, and there is no scenario in the future that will see him continue to participate in keynote speeches as executive chairman, with Ternus officially taking over as CEO on September 1st. He stated that Apple usually does not hold large events between the June and September iPhone launch events, so all signs currently indicate that this year's WWDC will be Cook's "farewell performance," and the next iPhone launch event will be an important occasion for Ternus to make his first public appearance as CEO. Gurman pointed out that Apple has prioritized Ternus' release of a foldable screen iPhone as one of his top priorities, as one of his "three fires" upon taking office. This will help Apple showcase his product development capabilities and prove why he is the right candidate for the CEO position.
