Indian Navy: 45 warships under construction, 195 approved.

According to a report on the website of the Times of India on May 22, Vice Admiral Sunjay Vatachayan, Deputy Chief of the Indian Navy, stated in Kolkata at the launching ceremony of the "Sangamitra" that the country currently has about 45 ships under construction, which will be delivered in the next three to four years. The ship is the first of four new generation offshore patrol vessels built by the Indian state-owned defense company Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers for the navy. The report also mentioned that Vice Admiral Vatachayan revealed on the 20th that 195 ships have received preliminary approval in the Indian Navy's future shipbuilding plans. He said, "Another 69 ships, 6 submarines, and 120 fast interception boats have been approved for implementation. The Indian defense shipbuilding industry has a great opportunity for development and can deliver high-quality ships that meet the navy's combat power requirements on time."
