According to the population data estimated from this survey, the total population of the country is 1.40545 billion people, and there are a total of 514.65 million households in the country. According to the "Main Data Bulletin of the 1% Population Sample Survey in 2025", the data released this time are all data estimated based on the survey data at zero o'clock on November 1, 2025. The national sample size is 20.52 million people, accounting for 1.46% of the total population; the national population refers to the population of the mainland's 31 provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government, and active servicemen, excluding residents of Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan and foreigners living in the 31 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the Central Government. The data shows that in the national population, the male population is 717.22 million, accounting for 51.03%; the female population is 688.23 million, accounting for 48.97%, with a total sex ratio of 104.21. The population of households in the country is 1.29685 billion, with an average of 2.52 people per household. In terms of age composition, in the national population, the population aged 0 to 14 is 214.36 million, accounting for 15.25%; the population aged 15 to 59 is 869.87 million, accounting for 61.89%; and the population aged 60 and above is 321.22 million, accounting for 22.86%, among which the population aged 65 and above is 223.09 million, accounting for 15.87%. In terms of educational attainment, in the national population, the population with a college education is 272.33 million; the population with a high school education is 242.72 million; the population with a junior high school education is 452.83 million; and the population with a primary school education is 331.22 million. In addition, in the national population, 95.208 million people live in urban areas, accounting for 67.74%; and 45.337 million people live in rural areas, accounting for 32.26%. There are 35.788 million mobile population in the country. The 1% population sample survey is a major national survey on the national situation and strength, aimed at timely understanding the changes in population development.
