Reporters learned today that, according to the deployment of the product carbon footprint labeling certification pilot conducted by the State Administration for Market Regulation, 6 enterprises recently obtained the first batch of carbon footprint labeling certification certificates in China, involving 5 major categories including lithium batteries, textiles, electronic appliances, cement, wood products, and 7 pilot products. This marks an important progress in the construction of China's product carbon footprint labeling certification. Carbon footprint labeling certification is a certification that quantifies the results and consistency of the carbon footprint of a product through on-site inspections and product carbon footprint verification, which helps companies strengthen and improve carbon footprint management, and promote carbon peaking and neutrality. During the pilot process, market regulation departments across the country guided relevant certification agencies to carefully implement the "General Implementation Rules for Product Carbon Footprint Labeling Certification" and related product-specific rules, solidly carry out product carbon footprint verification, and make accurate certification conclusions. The State Administration for Market Regulation organized peer reviews for 69 product certification pilot projects, strictly controlling the quality of certificates, and ultimately confirming that 6 enterprises' 7 products meet certification requirements, ensuring the authenticity of product carbon footprints and the accuracy of quantified results. It is understood that the State Administration for Market Regulation will guide certification agencies to strengthen post-certification supervision of relevant enterprises, ensure continuous compliance with certification requirements, and actively work with relevant departments to accelerate the deepening of product carbon footprint labeling pilot work, continuously consolidate the effectiveness of the pilot, and jointly build a system for product carbon labeling certification.
