Hainan's heavy rain warning and flood prevention and wind emergency response have both been elevated to level three.

According to the Hainan Provincial Meteorological Bureau, affected by the southward jet stream, from 8:00 on May 18 to 16:00 on May 19, there were heavy to extremely heavy rain in some parts of the southeast and north of Hainan Island, with some areas experiencing torrential rain. Among them, 5 towns in Lingshui, Baoting, and Wanning counties recorded rainfall exceeding 300 mm, with the highest at 435.5 mm in Qunying Town, Lingshui County. It is expected that from the night of the 19th to the day of the 20th, some towns in Sanya, Baoting, Lingshui, Wanning, and Qiongzhong counties will still experience strong rainfall of 80-150 mm, with isolated towns receiving over 250 mm; while some towns in Ledong, Wuzhishan, Qionghai, and Wenchang counties will receive 30-80 mm of rainfall. The Hainan Provincial Meteorological Bureau upgraded the heavy rain level 4 warning to a level 3 warning at 17:30 on May 19, 2026. Please relevant units and personnel to take preventive measures.
