World Health Organization: The global risk of the Hantan virus is low.
On the 19th local time, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated that the assessment of the Hantan virus by the WHO is still that the risk is low on a global scale. As of now, there have been 11 reported cases, including 3 deaths. Since the WHO first learned of the outbreak on May 2nd, no new deaths have been reported. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated that there are currently no signs of a larger-scale outbreak. However, the situation could change, and the WHO urges all affected countries to continue closely monitoring the situation.
