According to informed sources, the national total control target for the number of sows capable of reproduction has been set at 37.5 million, and will be gradually decomposed and issued to provinces and cities according to the actual situation in each region. At the national swine industry control special work conference held on May 18, the competent authorities also clarified a number of mandatory control measures and inspection and supervision mechanisms, and stated that they will strictly investigate any behavior of expanding production capacity against the trend.
