5.2 magnitude earthquake hits Liunan District, Liuzhou, Guangxi, with tremors felt in many areas and people trapped.

At 00:21 on May 18th, a 5.2 magnitude earthquake struck Liunan District of Liuzhou City, Guangxi, with a depth of 8 kilometers. Liuzhou, Guilin, Guigang, Wuzhou, Hechi, Nanning, and Laibin City all felt the tremors. It is reported that the epicenter was in Taiyang Village, Liunan District, where seven self-built houses along the street have collapsed, trapping people and causing some houses to crack. After the earthquake, the Guangxi Earthquake Administration quickly activated a Level II emergency response. The Liunan Fire Brigade dispatched 4 vehicles and 30 personnel to conduct search and rescue operations on site, with an additional 80 personnel scheduled to arrive for rescue efforts.
