Nikkei News cited a senior executive of a chip substrate supplier as saying that due to the rising prices of methanol, xylene, and related solvents, Japanese CCL supplier Mitsubishi Gas Chemical has increased the prices of some products by 20% in the first quarter of this year. He added that due to the overall rise in material costs, it is expected that CCL prices will continue to increase. Mitsubishi Gas Chemical confirmed that the company has issued two price increase notices for CCL and prepreg materials, with each notice involving different products.
