According to the financial APP of Zhitong, the China Index Research Institute released a report stating that in April 2026, as seasonal effects gradually subsided, the demand for rental housing in most key cities decreased, with the average rental price of residential properties in 50 cities slightly decreasing. However, core cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen continued to see an upward trend in rental prices. According to the China Index 50-city residential rental price index, in April, the average rental price for residential properties in 50 cities nationwide was 33.98 yuan per square meter per month, a decrease of 0.05% from the previous month, which was an increase of 0.09% in March. The year-on-year decrease was 3.38%, a decrease of 0.27 percentage points compared to March.
