Regulation on the management of high-quality meteorological development pilot projects by the China Meteorological Administration

Recently, the China Meteorological Administration issued the "Management Measures for Comprehensive Deepening Reform and Promoting High-Quality Development of Meteorology Pilot Work," which systematically regulates the entire process of application, approval, implementation, and summary promotion of pilot projects for high-quality development and reform of meteorology, providing solid institutional guarantees for the scientific and standardized promotion of high-quality development and reform pilot projects in meteorology. This is an important achievement in the establishment of chapters and systems for learning and practicing the correct view of political achievements in the meteorological department. The "Measures" specify that pilot projects are divided into two major types: comprehensive and special. Comprehensive pilot projects focus on accelerating the modernization of meteorological scientific and technological capabilities and social services, covering various aspects such as high-level technological self-reliance, high-level basic business capabilities, high-level talent support, high-quality and efficient security, high-quality and efficient development assistance, and high-quality and efficient governance promotion. Special pilot projects focus on addressing the bottlenecks, difficulties, and pain points that restrict the high-quality development of meteorology, especially at the grassroots level in the local area, focusing on major policy implementation, institutional innovation, and major project promotion.
