Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi stated on Monday that there is currently no need to compile a supplementary budget to alleviate the economic impact of the Middle East conflict. Takaichi also pointed out during a speech in parliament that although the actual blockade of the Strait of Hormuz may result in a shortage of Japan's crude oil and petroleum supplies, the government should not implement measures to suppress economic activity. Japan has currently stabilized gasoline prices through subsidy mechanisms and has not introduced fuel control measures, reflecting its policy direction of supporting the recovery of the fragile economy.
