The vice president of the rare earth company leaked 7 national secrets to foreign agencies. The National Security Bureau has disclosed the details.
The National Security Agency today released a security advisory article. The development of resources, technological progress, and the flow of data are all deeply embedded in the invisible network of the industrial chain and supply chain. The security of the industrial chain and supply chain is related to the overall economic security and high-quality development of the country. In recent years, foreign intelligence agencies have increasingly made their infiltration, destruction, and theft of secrets related to our industrial chain and supply chain more covert, professional, and systematic, posing a serious threat to our economic security, technological security, and data security. Rare earths are strategic resources related to high-end manufacturing and national defense industry. Foreign countries have long been highly concerned about related acquisition and storage situations, trying every means to obtain internal data from our country. Public cases show that a foreign non-ferrous metal company, through its Chinese employee Ye, bribed a deputy general manager of a domestic rare earth company named Cheng, in order to obtain confidential national secrets including categories, quantities, prices of rare earths collected and stored in China. In the end, both Ye and Cheng were severely punished by law.
