Australian Prime Minister Albanese called for a cooling down of the situation in the Middle East on the 22nd and stated that efforts will be made to ensure Australia's fuel supply. Albanese said at a press conference in Sydney that the world is currently in an extremely unstable and turbulent period, which Australia cannot avoid. He will continue to call for a de-escalation of the situation in the Middle East and work to ensure Australia's fuel supply. He said the Australian government has collaborated with British oil companies and Viva Energy Group to ensure the delivery of four batches of diesel supply. He will hold a meeting with leaders of all states and territories in Australia on the 23rd to discuss fuel security issues. Australian Minister for Climate Change and Energy Chris Bowen said at the press conference that these diesel supplies will arrive in Australia in late May or early June and will serve as an "additional buffer" for the national reserves.
