The Ministry of Transportation released a quick report on urban rail transit operation data for March 2026. In March, a total of 54 cities in 31 provinces and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps opened 345 urban rail transit lines, with an operating mileage of 11,778.2 kilometers. There were 3.85 million train trips, serving a total of 2.98 billion passengers and 1.77 billion passengers entering the stations. In March, compared to the previous month, the passenger volume increased by 810 million, a 37.3% increase, and compared to the same period last year, an increase of 100 million, a 3.5% increase. The average passenger transport intensity of the total operating mileage in March was 0.817 million passengers per kilometer per day nationwide.
