Nitrogen fertilizer exporter Fertiglobe: Nitrogen fertilizer prices may rise further.
According to Fertiglobe, one of the world's largest nitrogen fertilizer exporters, nitrogen fertilizer prices have nearly doubled to levels before the Iran war, and prices may continue to increase as key supplies remain blocked in the Persian Gulf region. "Prices are already quite 'high' at the moment, but if this situation continues, prices may go up even further," said Ahmed El-Hoshy, CEO of Fertiglobe, in an interview. El-Hoshy stated that this is a serious challenge for farmers' financial situation, which could ultimately lead to an increase in food and grain prices. According to Fertiglobe's research data, urea exports from the Gulf region plummeted to about 300,000 tons in March, compared to the usual monthly export volume of 1.7 million tons. He said that these exports mainly come from Oman.
