Journalists learned from the China News Publishing Research Institute that the main findings of the 23rd National Reading Survey have been announced. The data shows that digital reading has deeply integrated into daily life, with a mobile reading rate of 79.0% among adult citizens in China projected for 2025, increasing by 0.3 percentage points from 78.7% in 2024. More and more people are choosing to read through audio books and video lectures, with the percentages increasing from 38.5% and 5.7% in 2024 to 38.7% and 6.3% in 2025. In addition, the duration of digital media exposure continues to rise, leading to a restructuring of reading time allocation among citizens. In terms of digital media, the average daily mobile exposure time per adult citizen in China in 2025 is 109.54 minutes, an increase of 0.78 minutes from 108.76 minutes in 2024.
