Hungary's Fidesz party wins in the parliamentary election.
The preliminary voting results announced by the Hungarian National Election Office on the evening of the 12th showed that the Fidesz party led by Viktor Orban won in the parliamentary elections held that day. According to the vote count of 96.37% of the votes, Fidesz received 53.69% of the votes and is expected to win 138 out of the 199 seats in parliament, exceeding two-thirds. The ruling coalition led by Prime Minister Orban received 37.72% of the votes and is expected to win 55 seats. The far-right party "Our Homeland" movement received 5.90% of the votes and is expected to win 6 seats. The remaining participating parties did not reach the 5% threshold needed to enter parliament. Preliminary statistics show that out of approximately 8.1 million eligible voters, about 77.8% participated in the vote, reaching a historical record turnout.
