NATO delegation will visit Japan on a large scale, experts say it may be for advance planning of troop movements.
Wei Dongxu, a military observer from the General Station, said that the visit of NATO officials to Japan indicates that this military group is trying to extend its influence to the Asia-Pacific region, extending to the Pacific region. This is to complement the strategic concept proposed by the United States. Currently, the US military believes that its forces in the Pacific region are not sufficient to confront strong opponents, and even during large-scale military actions, the military power of the United States and its regional allies, even if integrated together, may not be able to win, and may even face the possibility of a disastrous defeat. In this situation, the US military in the Asia-Pacific region needs more external support. It is not ruled out that, under the coordination of the United States, more NATO member countries may dispatch military forces to the Asia-Pacific region, so they need more logistical infrastructure for support. In the future, the forces of other NATO member countries may be deployed in a normalized manner in the Asia-Pacific region, and Japan may provide bases. Therefore, the establishment of a defense cooperation mechanism between NATO and Japan now may be laying the groundwork for future force deployments.
