Mining executive accused of illegally taking over lithium mining rights in Brazil.
The Ontario Securities Commission of Canada has charged senior executives of its domestic mining exploration company Emerita Resources Corp. with transferring the company's lithium mining project rights to a new company controlled by them, which is suspected of defrauding Emerita and its investors. The regulatory agency stated that senior officials of Emerita made misleading statements in public documents about the "Hawk Project" and a high-grade zinc mining project called Plaza Norte in Spain. Emerita and Lithium Ionic have established a special committee to review and respond to these charges, with a hearing scheduled to take place in Toronto on May 8th.
