Trump: US-Iran agreement "very optimistic" Requires Israel to "keep a low profile"
On the 9th, US President Trump expressed optimism about reaching a peace agreement with Iran, saying that an agreement is within reach. He also stated that he has requested Israel to maintain a "low profile" in its military actions in Lebanon. Trump told NBC reporters during a phone interview that, in comparison to when facing the media, the members of the Iranian leadership were "much more reasonable in their dialogue," and "they are agreeing to all the terms they have to accept." He also warned, "If they do not reach an agreement, the consequences will be extremely painful." Trump confirmed that he had a phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu on the 8th, and requested Israel to reduce its military actions inside Lebanon. He said that Netanyahu would handle it "in a discreet manner."
