Explosion at military arsenal in Burundi's economic capital
On March 31st, at around 6:20 pm local time, continuous explosions were heard in Bujumbura, the economic capital of Burundi. According to the Burundian Ministry of Interior and the military, the explosions were caused by a fire at a military camp which triggered an explosion in the ammunition depot. The cause of the fire at the military camp is still unknown. As of the time of publication, local residents and sources told Xinhua reporters that the explosions lasted for about two hours and have just stopped. The city of Bujumbura is relatively calm.
