Due to the Middle East conflict causing tight fuel supply and soaring prices, several Vietnamese airlines have announced that they will reduce the number of domestic and international flights starting in April. Some airlines will cut their flights by more than 50%. According to Vietnamese media reports on the 28th, Vietnam Airlines announced that it will suspend 7 domestic routes starting from April 1, and will reduce the number of flights by 10% to 20% per month in the next quarter depending on the increase in fuel prices. VietJet Air plans to cut about 18% of its total capacity in April, with a reduction of 22% for domestic flights and 11% for international flights. Bamboo Airways plans to reduce the number of daily flights from the current 36 to about 17. Earlier this week, the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam issued a statement saying that due to the tight aviation fuel supply caused by the Middle East conflict, Vietnamese airlines are facing a risk of fuel shortage, so they have decided to reduce the number of flights and temporarily suspend some routes starting from April 1, but major domestic and international routes will continue to operate.
