The continued decline in the number of people filing for unemployment benefits in the United States to the lowest level in nearly two years indicates that despite facing new economic headwinds, the labor market remains stable. Data shows that for the week ending March 14, the number of people filing for continued unemployment benefits decreased by 32,000 to 1.819 million, the lowest level since May 2024.
