On March 25th, SEMICON China2026 opened at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. In his opening speech, Wang Ning, President of the China Electronics Chamber of Commerce, made three suggestions for the development of the global semiconductor industry: First, uphold open cooperation and build a mutually beneficial industry ecosystem for the global semiconductor industry. In today's world, economies are interdependent, and the semiconductor industry needs to be more inclusive. It is suggested that the global industry should continue to break down barriers, eliminate isolation, strengthen collaboration, and enhance mutual dependence advantages. Second, adhere to technology leadership and innovation, and strengthen the core technology breakthroughs from available to advanced. To achieve high-quality development, innovation is key. It is recommended to continue to increase efforts in researching advanced packaging core equipment materials, EDA software, etc., while also focusing on emerging sectors such as AI computing centers, automotive electronics, etc., to proactively plan and seize the initiative. Third, establish a well-structured and rational talent pool, and improve local talent training and growth mechanisms.
