Ministry of Industry and Information Technology: As of the end of February, the number of 5G mobile phone users reached 1.235 billion households, with a net increase of 30.44 million households compared to the end of last year.

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the economic performance of the communications industry for the first two months of 2026. By the end of February, the total number of fixed broadband access users of the three basic telecom enterprises reached 694 million households, with a net increase of 3.167 million households compared to the end of the previous year. Among them, the number of fixed broadband access users with speeds of 100Mbps and above reached 662 million households, accounting for 95.5% of the total users; the number of fixed broadband access users with speeds of 1000Mbps and above reached 245 million households, with a net increase of 6.37 million households compared to the end of the previous year, accounting for 35.3% of the total users, an increase of 0.8 percentage points compared to the end of the previous year. By the end of February, the total number of mobile phone users of the three basic telecom enterprises and China Radio and Television reached 1.826 billion households, a decrease of 1.001 million households compared to the end of the previous year. Among them, the number of 5G mobile phone users reached 1.235 billion households, with a net increase of 30.44 million households compared to the end of the previous year, accounting for 67.6% of mobile phone users.
