On the 20th, a federal court judge in Argentina opened an investigation into the alleged illegal enrichment of Chief of Cabinet Minister Manuel Adorni. Federal judge Ariel Lijo ordered the release of tax and banking secrecy obligations of the company suspected of paying for Adorni's trip to Punta del Este, Uruguay, to investigate whether he engaged in illegal enrichment. Local media previously reported that in February of this year, Adorni and his family took a private flight to Punta del Este, Uruguay. Subsequently, Argentine congressman Marcela Pagano requested an investigation into his economic sources, citing discrepancies between the expenses for the private flight and Adorni's reported income. In addition, on the 7th of this month, Adorni accompanied Argentine President Milei on a trip to the United States, while his wife followed on the presidential plane to New York and stayed at a luxury hotel, sparking criticism from the Argentine media, alleging misuse of national resources.
