Colombian President denies drug trafficking accusations.

Colombian President Petro on the 20th strongly denied through social media any accusations that he or his presidential campaign team had any connection with drug trafficking groups. Petro said that the Colombian justice department currently has no investigations linking him to drug traffickers, and he claimed he has "never had a conversation with any drug traffickers." Petro also stated that he had explicitly instructed his campaign team leader not to accept any political donations from bankers or drug traffickers. A comprehensive investigation into his presidential campaign activities has also not found any "drug-related" funds.
