Tesla plans to mass deliver Semi electric trucks by 2026, with an estimated 5,000 to 15,000 vehicles expected to be delivered this year.
This summer, after several years of delays, Tesla plans to start mass deliveries of the Semi from its Nevada Gigafactory. According to a recent report from Tigress Financial Partners, the company expects to deliver 5,000 to 15,000 Semis by 2026, with production increasing to 50,000 per year afterwards. Tesla states that the Semi's charging speed is four times faster than other pure electric trucks, with the ability to charge to 60% in 30 minutes. While still slower than refueling diesel, it is a significant improvement for electric vehicles. Tesla claims that the Semi can travel 500 miles on a single charge.
