According to estimates by industry associations, the output value of China's transformer industry will exceed 300 billion yuan by 2025, with production accounting for over 50% of the global share, and a number of influential "powerful" enterprises emerging. The total capacity of transformers in China's grid is approximately 160 billion kilovolt-amperes, with an annual energy loss of around 250 billion kilowatt-hours, accounting for about 40% of the national power distribution and transmission losses. In recent years, China has been promoting the transformation of the industry from "scale expansion" to "quality and efficiency improvement", with energy efficiency levels continuing to rise. Mainstream transformer products such as silicon steel transformers and amorphous alloy transformers have significantly improved energy efficiency; high-efficiency energy-saving transformers are being rapidly promoted and by 2025, the total output of transformers in China is expected to reach around 3 billion kilovolt-amperes, with the proportion of energy-saving transformers in operation in the grid increasing by 10 percentage points compared to 2020.
