Quadruped robots have become the top choice for security in American data centers.
North America is building data centers with a total capacity of 35 gigawatts to support the flourishing development of artificial intelligence calculations, which has generated an unprecedented demand for security solutions, making four-legged robots suddenly popular. Merry Frayne, senior director of product management at Boston Dynamics, said that over the past year data centers have shown a great interest in their robot dog Spot. The robot dog is equipped with a range of sensors that can detect temperature fluctuations, leaks, water accumulation in server rooms or mechanical rooms, and even abnormal noises that may indicate problems. Some data centers are also exploring the possibility of using robot dogs for industrial inspections, site surveys, and construction monitoring.
