US stock index futures edged higher as investors bought on dips; oil prices narrowed their gains from earlier attacks on key energy infrastructure in the Middle East. "Although the S&P 500 index is a bit weak, it is only about 4% below its high before the conflict erupted," said Mark Malek, Chief Investment Officer at Siebert Financial. "This indicates that the market and investor sentiment remain strong. Ultimately, the US market still provides the best opportunities for investment to move higher, which undoubtedly alleviates market fears to a certain extent."
