The Hong Kong Customs and Excise Department, in its capacity as the Vice Chair of the Asia-Pacific Region of the World Customs Organization, hosted a three-day Asia-Pacific Smart Customs Conference from March 11th to 13th, bringing together key global stakeholders to collectively promote the digital transformation of customs operations. During his speech, Commissioner of Customs and Excise of Hong Kong, Chen Zida, introduced the department's achievements in the application of artificial intelligence, blockchain, big data, and other areas, emphasizing that the success of smart customs construction relies on mutual trust, partnerships, and close cooperation. He stated that Hong Kong Customs is using technologies like artificial intelligence to drive transformation, focusing on connectivity and playing a bridging role between the introduction and export of goods, deepening exchanges and cooperation between industries and customs authorities in various regions. In the future, Hong Kong Customs will continue to push forward with digital reforms in customs clearance, facilitate global trade connectivity, and help build a more resilient supply chain.
