The Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Carrie Lam, attended the International Women's Day reception for 2026 today and expressed that Hong Kong, as a diverse and inclusive international metropolis, has been actively promoting the comprehensive development of women. The Special Administrative Region government works closely with the Women's Commission to provide a favorable environment, enhance women's capabilities, and promote public education to improve the well-being and rights of women. Carrie Lam emphasized that the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government will continue to promote the development of women's affairs. On the 31st of this month, Hong Kong will host the second "Hong Kong Family and Women Development Summit," and Carrie Lam looks forward to active participation and sharing of wisdom from all sectors of society to exchange views on issues related to family and women development that are of social concern, jointly promoting the advancement of women's affairs.
