As Asian governments step up efforts to protect their economies from the impact of escalating conflicts in the Middle East, Vietnam has announced a series of measures in an attempt to safeguard its domestic energy supply. The Vietnamese government stated in a declaration that crude oil not yet committed for export must be sold to local refineries. Domestic natural gas supply will be prioritized for electricity generation, and plans are in place to establish a swap mechanism to replace imported liquefied natural gas. If the benchmark price rises by 7% from the previous pricing cycle, gasoline prices will be adjusted.
