Latvia confirms three cases of Kyasanur forest disease virus infection.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Latvia announced on the 2nd that this year, the country has confirmed 3 cases of Chikungunya virus infection, all of whom have a travel history to Seychelles. The announcement stated that two of the cases are members of the same family, while the other case has no epidemiological link to the first two. All three individuals recently traveled to Seychelles. According to a news release from the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control on February 27th, since November 2025, more than 70 cases of Chikungunya virus infection with travel history to Seychelles have been reported by 10 European countries, indicating ongoing transmission of the virus within Seychelles.
